Upcoming Event at the Des Moines Register
Lee Rood, the Reader’s Watchdog columnist for the Des Moines Register, is moderating a panel discussion on smart charitable giving from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29.
The event is in the Register’s training room on the main floor of Capitol Square, 400 Locust St. in Des Moines.
Panelists include: Gordon Fischer, Gordon Fischer Law Firm, P.C., whose law practice focuses on charitable giving for both donors and non profits; Bill Brauch, director of the Consumer Protection Division of the Iowa Attorney General’s Office; Carrie Clogg, director of philanthropy for Kum & Go; and Angela Dethlefs-Trettin, vice president of community investment & initiatives, Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines.
The event is open for all who want to learn how to give wisely to nonprofits and make the most of potential tax benefits.
